We’ve come to appreciate movies that is set into the future. Although, some of these seem pretty terrifying to watch like post-apocalyptic, and dystopian ones, we can’t avoid thinking what it would be like if we were to have that state of life (and I mean the positive ones). Here are the top 10 infrastructural projects being built around the world.

1. Ziggurat Project

Ziggurat Project isn’t your typical housing community. In fact, its structure seems like a futuristic pyramid that shimmers when light touches its walls. It is a sustainable super building that is expected to house 1 million people. It will be powered by steam and wind turbines for natural energy.

2. Rawabi

Known as the First Palestinian Planned City, it is built to symbolize hope and confidence for the future. Although seen as a ghost city, it is seen as an eye-pleasing sight. Its objective is to be a functioning city that could be home to residents, as well.

3. Crystal Island

Since Crystal Island plans to shelter a whole city, this island is expected to be the largest building in the world. It’s called the “Christmas Tree” due to its awe-inspiring structure and was designed to be able to show the majestic view of Moscow. It is operated with solar energy and wind turbines.

4. X Seed 4000

Its name sounds like it was brought to reality from an animation, this structure from Japan is the World’s Tallest Building. It is expected to be 800 stories tall and to be inhibited by 1 million people.

5. Masdar City

The City heavily relies on solar energy and renewable resources; which they were able to bag the title of the World’s First Green Ghost Town. To keep it carbon-free, they banned cars from the city itself and have computer-guided pod cars as their means of public transportation.

6. Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT)

GIFT is projected to be the central hub for business. It is one of the 100 smart cities to be built by 2022. An expense of 1 trillion dollars is believed to be invested in this revolutionary city. It has its own underground tunnely which would allow people to commute from one place to another, its own cooling system, and much more.

7. Bismayah

It is promised to be the ‘Biggest City Development Project’ in Iraq that will be able to cater to 6,000 residents with its own water, and electricity utilities. It will be able to fund educational sectors, as well.

8. Destiny Florida

Destiny Florida can accommodate 500 thousand residents which is planned to be the First Eco-Sustainable City’ if they were to surpass the issues presented to them.

9. King Abdullah Economic City

Situated near the Red Sea, this magnificent city is foreseen to be bigger than Washington DC. Like any other cities, it will be able to shoulder sectors for education and business. There will also be sea resorts and residential areas in the city.

10. Cite

Cite is primarily made to be a testing and simulation ground for new technology. In fact, its purpose of existence is to test out prototypes that can assist the state of living in the future and concocting a revolutionary discovery; because of this, it was known as the ‘rural laboratory.’
