INDIA, a nation with hundreds of problems and millions of solutions. Let’s not debate and judge about India’s past. Looking ahead into modern India would be more fruitful. India just goes on, but can you imagine where we’ll be at seventy years from now on?
Let’s take a look at what we are about to witness. By 2087, we will lay our eyes on a new and developed land of opportunities.
Here’s a glimpse at what we are about to witness in seventy years.
Population
By 2087, India will be the biggest democracy in the world. At the same time, it’ll also overtake China in the human population. According to united nations, modern India will add up to 300 million inhabitants in next seven decades.
When we compare this with China’s 1.1 billion population. India will accommodate between 1.5 to 1.6 billion people in this same period of time.
If the statistics are true, Nigeria will be India’s likeliest rival when it comes to population. Nigeria’s population will reach one billion in the coming decades. Thus, the world will look more Indian and more African in seventy years.
Literacy
The improvements in India’s literacy rate is set to continue. We are witnessing a steep rise in literacy rate each passing year. If the illiteracy was 48% in 1991, it represents a great deal of improvement in 2011. It was 26% according to studies, and it is set to continue at this pace.
With new enrolments into the schools reaching 96.7%, illiteracy would finally be a part of India’s past.
Life expectancy of modern India
Improved hygiene, healthcare, and medicines will make the life expectancy to see a rise in coming decades. If the average life expectancy was 41 years in 1991, it stands at 69 years as of now. We are witnessing the healthcare and facilities globalizing day-by-day. It’s safe to say that we’ll see more improvements in next 70 years.
Internet usage
Smartphones and data are becoming cheap with each passing day. Hence, this will make India witness a sturdy increase in internet users. More than 80% of India’s population is projected to be online by the end of 2030. But we should consider the fact that only a third of our population uses the internet as of now. Thus, this makes the futuristic figures a great deal.
Climate
Well, even if we have things to be excited about modern India, we will also encounter matters of concerns. Climate changes will be a major concern that our world will be facing. India with its drastic rise in population will also suffer to cope with this warming planet.
To make things even worse. scientists around the world predict a deadly heat wave to hit southeast Asia at the end of this century.
Looking at the things above, India will undergo changes in next seventy years. We will be richer, literate, and healthier. But, the major concern for us and all other nations will be the global warming. Apart from these, we can expect to see India as the leading superpower.
