Well, this can also cause sleeping difficulties.

Constant pain

This can be due to a tenacious headache, arthritis, lower back pain, or chronic fatigue. You’ll have a hard time falling asleep with these constant pains. The constant pain might even wake you up after you fall asleep, and this must be considered as a sleeping disorder.

Frequent urination

Commonly known as Nocturia, this condition may occur due to urinary tract disease or hormonal imbalances. Frequently waking up for urination might disrupt your sleep.

There are also different types of sleeping disorders.


It is a condition where the person is unable to fall asleep or to stay asleep. Insomnia can affect your overall health and the quality of your life. This sleeping disorder can be further classified into three. Chronic, intermittent, and transient.

Chronic, when insomnia occurs on a regular basis for at least a month. Intermittent is referred to as periodic insomnia, and transient when insomnia lasts up to few nights.


These are the types of sleeping disorders which causes abnormal behaviours and movements during sleep. Nightmares, teeth grinding, groaning, sleepwalking, sleep talking, and bedwetting are only a few to name.


This can also happen during the daytime, you will suddenly feel tired and fall asleep without a warning. Narcolepsy can also lead to sleep paralysis, a condition where the person is unable to move right after waking up.

What are the treatments for sleeping disorders?

The treatment depends on the type and severity of your disorder. Sleeping disorders can be cured by medical treatments or by introducing changes into your lifestyle. Medical treatments include sleeping pills and medication for the causes of health issues.

However, for a better result, your doctor may suggest you make lifestyle adjustments while you undergo medication. Lifestyle changes include a change in food diets, limiting the use of tobacco and alcohol, and creating a regular sleeping schedule.
