Lubana Sikhs is a sub-group of the Sikh religious group from India. They are basically found in Punjab. It is a Punjabi community. They were once the transporters and carriers. Now they are found doing agriculture. They are the landholding caste in Punjab. Lubana castes of Sikhs possess a high degree in military support. A good number of the Lubanas followed pastoral occupation too in the past. They entered the agrarian occupation by taking the assistance of the state. But majority of the Lubanas still continues their traditional occupations of transportation. Like the other trading communities the Lubanas love to expand their trade and also harvest profits from this expansion. With this expansion, their financial position has changed and they possess land within their community. Their economic condition has improved and it has paved their way for achieving social well-being. They are quite industrious and hardworking. They follow the Sikh tradition in celebrating every occasion of their life. Their marriage ceremony is observed according to the Sikh tradition too. The Sikh marriages are celebrated in many phases. Every phase of the celebration has songs and dances. From bridegroom's side, there are many songs whichare sung during different rituals of the pre-wedding ceremony. The songs at bride's home are song during pre-wedding and wedding ceremonies. The Lubana matrimony too follows many of the Sikh matrimonial rituals. According to Sikh ceremony the bride and groom will walk in tow around the Guru Granth Sahib four times which is known as laanva. Lubana wedding too follows many of these important rituals of Punjab.
