Madigas, also known as Maadigas, Maadigars, Maadars is a subcategory of Hindus. They are mainly living in the states of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Maharashtra. They belong to a category which are not given social respect for many generations, even though they were kind, intelligent, hard working people. They fought hard to earn this respect and succeeded in this mission. Today Madigas are well respected and considered as superior artists and workers to do anything and everything. Traditionally, Madigas are known for their music taste. They have wonderful traditional instruments which they play to sing and dance nicely which is a sight to be enjoyed in person. This is seen as their important artistic skill, while their hard work earns them their regular jobs and respect in society. Today Madigas send their children to school, college, who get good grades there, get nice jobs and work for large organizations. Some are even starting their own businesses. This has changed the equation a lot in terms of their social acceptance and today Madigas command good respect purely due to the hard work and the intelligent manner in which they are doing this. Madiga matrimony process starts when parents of a boy or a girl decide that they are in the age where they should get married and prepares a profile about them. Once it reaches a family which is looking for a suitable match for their son or daughter, both families meet and discuss to take the marriage discussion to the next level.
